The Washington Air National Guard can provide you with many benefits by
just working a minimum of one weekend per month and two weeks a year
- Paid Training - The Air National Guard will provide you with the best
training in the world through the U.S. Air Force. After completing six weeks of
basic training at Lackland AFB TX, you advance to an Air Force Technical Training School.
There you will receive valuable marketable training in your specialized career field. You are paid while you train, and you will also earn transferable
college credits through the Community College of the Air Force.
- Montgomery G.I. Bill - With a six year enlistment, you will be eligible
for the reserve Montgomery G.I. Bill. This is a non-contributory tax free
benefit. As a full time student you can receive $309 per month to help pay for
your education.
- Student Loan Repayment Program - Enlist in a critical career field for
six years and you may be eligible for repayment of up to $20,000 on a Federally Insured
Student Loan.
- Exclusive Shopping - You are allowed to shop at military commissaries
(grocery stores) and Base Exchanges (department stores) at substantial savings over
civilian stores and pay no sales tax.
- Life Insurance - Air Guard members are entitled to up to
$400,000 in
life insurance coverage for a reasonable monthly cost.
- Travel - You will be eligible to take advantage of the space available
travel benefits to fly on military aircraft anywhere in the continental U.S. or
Territories.
- Retirement - You will be able to retire from the Washington Air
National Guard after only 20 years of satisfactory service. You will receive a
guaranteed income, for life, starting at age 60. The Air National Guard is one
of the few part-time jobs that pays a full time retirement.
